DILI, 05 june 2021 (TATOLI)- In 2019 the Portuguese Embassy has donated AHDMTL $4.900 for Portuguese language training, revealed the Director of Timor-Leste Eye Disabled Association (AHDMTL), Gaspar Afonso.
“20 people with disabilities have benefitted from Portuguese language training, this teaching is for six months and is directly taught by the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL) from the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training,” said Afonso in AHDMTL office Manleuana to Journalist TATOLI News Agency on monday.
Afonso explained that the $4.900 fund was used to pay Portuguese teacher, snacks, and buy office equipment for teaching purposes for 6 months.
Based on the Portuguese training plan, this training will be continued again after there is more funding, remembering that many AHDMTL members want to participate in Portuguese training because Portuguese is the official language of Timor-Leste.
“On this occasion, on behalf of AHDMTL, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Portugal Embassy and AHDMTL hopes that this Portuguese training program can be continued with the aim of developing the Portuguese language in Timor-Leste,” said Afonso.
