DILI, 09 july 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Association of Disabled Eyes (AHDMTL) had received $24.000 donation from the Embassy of New Zealand in Timor-Leste since 2020 ago,” informed Director Gaspar Afonso.

He said the funds had been used to pay for teachers who taught Braille to AHDMTL members.
“There are four teachers who teach Braille to 20 AHDMTL members for one year, these funds AHDMTL used to pay the four teachers including snacks,” said Afonso in his office Manleuana to journalists of TATOLI News Agency on friday.
He explained that with Braille’s good teaching there were 8 AHDMTL who already succeeded in continuing their studies in the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL) in the Institute of Social Science (ICS) department in 2021.
“On this occasion on behalf of AHDMTL I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the New Zealand Embassy and we hope that this aid can be continued in the upcoming future, said Afonso.
