DILI, 19 august, 2021 (TATOLI)- The government of Timor-Leste through council minister meeting recommends the President of the Republic, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo, for the renewal of the State of Emergency for another 30 days.
The decision was made following the presentation from the Center Integrated Management Crisis for COVID-19 regarding the epidemiological situation inside the country.
“The extension of the 17th state of emergency is to neutralize the risk of spreading of new coronavirus and protecting the public health while responding to the national health system,” The minister of Presidential for the Council of Minister, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães commented after the extraordinary meeting of CM at the Palacio do Governo Dili.
The 17th State of Emergency will authorize the government to suspend some rights of citizens.
