DILI, 13 september, 2021 (TATOLI)- Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Invest (MTCI) has officially announced that 14 Timorese will travel to Dubai tomorrow to review Timorese preparation in the October 1 of 2022 Dubai Expo.
the 14 staff composed of 10 female and 4 males coming from different ministries such as the Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Invest (MTCI), Minister of Petroleum and Mineral (MPM), Minister of Agriculture and Fishery, Ministery Transport and Communication, and Secretary State of Art and Culture.
Minister of Tourism, Trade, and Invest (MTCI), Jose Lucas Do Carmo Da Silva said it is a huge appreciation for the National Authority of the Dubai Expo (NAED) for organizing and coordinating with all the relevant ministries to have quality preparation on Dubai Expo.
Silva said added that the team should know Timor-Leste uniqueness and the team should have the potential to attract foreign investors to visits and invest in Timor-Leste.
“Timor-Leste team that will be departed to Dubai have a big responsibility to promote a visible and invisible package of Timor-Leste potential including Local Products such as coffee, coconut oil, sandalwood and more. The invisible package is reoffered for the investment composed of tourism, Agriculture, fisheries, transportation, and others,” General Coordinator of Expo Dubai, Manuel Vong to reporters at CPLP building in Pantai Kelapa, 13 September, this Monday.
Vong said that the team has been well prepared to offer excellent service during the Dubai Expo event.
“The Sectors of Tourism, Agriculture, fisheries, forest, petroleum, minerals is most potential sectors to promote during the Expo, we expect that Timor-Leste will be able to have a deal with some foreign investor to invest in Timor-Leste and offer the job opportunity also contribute for country income,” Said Vong.
The Expo Dubai will be participated by 192 countries around the world, as it is the most important moment for Timor- Leste to promote its local products and the potential tourism side to the world.
The government through MTCI has placed U$1 million for the Dubai Expo. 70% of the amount is used to purchase local products and 30% is for the expenses in Dubai.
The expo Dubai event is officially launched on 1 October in 2021 and the event will be opened for 6 months and ended on March 2022.
