To begin the classes MoH calls on students to follow Covid-19 health protocols

DILI, 13 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Health called on the students to follow the Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols when the government decided to resume the teaching and learning activities of primary and high schools and universities.

“Students will have to follow the health guidelines if the government is going to resume the teaching and learning process of schools and universities. It is important to reduce the number of cases so that schools and universities can reopen their teaching and learning activities,” Belo made the comments at the Ministry of Health in Dili, today.

She emphasized that if the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEJD) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESSK) are prepared to reopen the learning and teaching process, then students must follow the Covid-19 preventive measures.

“We don’t want the same thing to be happened again in our schools, in which 50 school students were infected with Covid-19 prior to the lockdown,” she said.

Therefore, MEJD and MESSK will play a crucial to ensure students will obey all the Covid-19 regulations to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 at schools and universities, Belo added.

“Most of the students only use maskers in class, and after that, they would not wear the masks particularly on the way home from schools,” she said.

She said, therefore, ensuring students follow the Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols was important to resume face-to-face learning.
