DILI, 09 february 2022 (TATOLI) – The Government has decided that the production of ballot papers for the 2022 presidential elections will be in charge of the Imprensa Nacional Timor-Leste.
The decision follows the approval of the proposal to acquire ballot papers for the suffrage, taking into account the approach of the date of the presidential elections.
“The acquisition of ballot papers will be printed by the Imprensa Nacional Timor-Leste,” the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidélis Magalhães said at the Government Palace.
According to Fidélis, the Government authorized the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) to establish the provisioning procedure through direct agreement.
“Instead of the bulletins being printed by private companies, the Government thought it was good for STAE to assume this responsibility”, he concluded.
