DILI, 04 march 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Government through the Minister of foreign affairs and cooperation (MoFAC), Adaljiza Magno and Oubbi Bouchraya, the Minister for Europe of the Polisario Front discussed issues on human rights and the status of political negotiation on Western Sahara.
Timor-Leste also reiterated its position to Western Sahara. “Minister Magno reiterated Timor-Leste’s position of full support for the Saharawi people to achieve the legitimate goals of freedom and independence,” said a note of the MNEC addressed to Tatoli today.
At the same time, Minister Magno seized the ocasion conveyed Timor-Leste’s candidacy at the human rights council for the period 2024-2026 which had a positive response from the Minister Bouchraya by stressing full support to the candidacy.
This Meeting was attended by the Permanent representative of Timor-Leste to the United Nations Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, Lurdes Bessa and the Permanent Representative of Timor-Leste to the United Nations in New York, Karlito Nunes.
