DILI, 08 march 2022 (TATOLI) – The intergovernmental organization of conflict-affected countries (g7+) and the University of Peace (UNPAZ) formalized a cooperation agreement in the field of research on world peace and reconciliation.
This partnership will facilitate students’ access to professional internships, at the g7+ office, through the organization of joint events and seminars on peace and international relations.
“This collaboration aims to increase our visibility and provide space for academics to acquire knowledge through research, so that they learn more about the challenges and opportunities at a global level”, said the secretary general of the g7+, Hélder da Costa, after the signing of the note of understanding, at the Government Palace, in Dili.
The secretary added that the g7+ will also collaborate with the National University of Timor Lorosa’e (UNTL) and the University of Dili (UNDIL)
UNPAZ, Adolmando Soares Amaral, stressed that the ceremony in question is just a formality, as the g7+ and UNPAZ were already collaborating.
“This cooperation comes into force today. The two institutions have already held joint seminars and the internship program will start soon,” he added.
The dean also informed that the university intends to include a discipline linked to peace in the higher education curriculum, so that the organization’s representatives can share with students the policies of the g7+ on the international stage.
