DILI, 30 march 2022 (TATOLI) – The Court of Appeal (TR) today selected the ranking of the two presidential candidates in the ballot papers.

The draw dictated that, in the ballot papers of this second round, the number one candidate will be José Ramos Horta, followed by Francisco Guterres ‘Lú Olo’.

“The ballot papers will now go to print”, said the President of the Courts of Appeal, Deolindo dos Santos, in Caicoli.

The official asked the electoral bodies, namely the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) and the National Elections Commission (CNE) to proceed with the preparation of the second round of voting.

The President of the CNE, José Agostinho Belo, informed that the two candidates had already presented the calendar of their respective electoral campaign, taking the opportunity to ask both of them to comply with the established rules.

The official also stressed that the public debate is already being prepared.

The representatives of two candidates, national and international observers, commissioners of the National Elections Commission (CNE), among others, attended the Court of Appeal.

Remember that the election campaign period will take place between April 2nd and 16th, with the second round of elections scheduled for the 19th of the same month.
