DILI, 01 february 2023 (TATOLI) – Eleven New Ambassadors, on wednesday, presented their letters of credence to the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta.
“Of these ambassadors, we have only two ambassadors resident in Timor-Leste – the Ambassadors of South Korea (Shin Mantaek) and Cuba (Grisel Alina Aldama Innis),” said Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Julião da Silva, at the Presidential Palace.
The others are non-resident ambassadors, including the ambassador of Singapore (Robin Hu), Equadór (Santiago Javier Chávez-Pareja), Dominican Republic (Briunny Garabito Segura, Croatia (Nebojṧa Kahorovic), Belgium (Frank Leon L. Felix), Hungary (Lilla L. Karsay), Peru (Luis Raul Tsuboyama Galvan), Finland (Jukka-Pekka Kaihilahti) and Kosovo (Jetnira Berdynaj Shala).
“It is necessary to strengthen our bilateral ties with these countries,” Minister Silva said.
He said that during the presentation of credentials, President Horta shared with the new ambassadors about the general situation of the country’s politics, security, and economy.
