DILI, 20 february 2023 (TATOLI) – The Program Manager of Tuberculosis (TB) of Bairo – Pite Clinic, José Maia Saores, said since january to mid-February, Bairo – Pite Clinic had recorded 75 positive cases of TB suffering and moment 36 patient have cared in the Insstitu Maun Alin de Cristo (ISMAIC) Tibar while the others are under the controlling of Bairo- Pite Clinic in each home.
“There were 75 positive cases of TB recorded in Bairo Pite Clinic, at the moment, from the 75 patients of TB, 36 are receiving the treatment in ISMAIC Tibar, and the others were controlled by the medical officer of Bairo – Pite Clinic in their home, we hope that they will drink the TB medicine to recover their disease early,’’ José Maia Soares told TATOLI in his office Bairo- Pite Clinic, Dili on monday.
Soares also requests all TB patients to collaborate with the medical officer to take medicine routine.
“The TB disease can be cured if the patients can take medication following the instruction from 6 – 9 months,’’ he concluded.
It is Recalled that in 2022 Bairo – Pite Clinic recorded 520 TB patients, while of the number 17 were fatalities.
TB is a disease caused by a specific type of bacteria that spreads from one person to another through the air. Tuberculosis can affect many parts of the body, but most often affects the lungs.
