DILI, 26 may 2023 (TATOLI)- The Secretary of State for Environmental Protection (SEA) through Education and Information Education (EIE) provided financial support of USD 33,000 for nine environmental groups.
EIE Director, Amenica Machado Fernandes said, the main purpose of this funding support is to help the nine groups to continue implementing green school programs to ensure a green environment.
“We involve the younger generation to protect the environment through greening activities and there will also be waste management. This program is planned to be implemented in September 2023, with a total budget of $33,000” EIE Director, Amenica Machado Fernandes told journalists in Akait, Dili, this Friday.
Chairman of the Beigrade Environmental Group, Livorio Jesuito de Oliveira Castro said he was very glad to benefit from financial support for this green village.
“We are pleased to receive a grant from the government to implement a green village program that will contribute to wastewater recycling books and others,” he said.
The following are groups that will carry out school green programs and green area programs such as:
- The Diklidun group will implement this program at EBF Cacae Uma Barique, in the municipality of Manatutu with a total budget of $.3,000 and the group will also implement at EBF 1.23 in Ailuli Same with a budget of 5,000.
- The Akitou Group will implement a school green at EBC on 12 October in Tasi-Tolu Dili with a total budget of $0.3000,
- The Leorema Youth Group implements at the TECBOC Agricola Loerema elementary school in Liquica Municipality with a budget of $.3,000
- Hadomin Group was implemented at Central Basic School 1,2,3 Lontale Covalima with a total budget of $3,000.
The group that will implement the green village program consists of:
- Leno Dalan Bross group will implement a green village in the Metinaru school, municipality of Dili with a total budget of $0.3,000
- Juventude Hadomi Natureja group will implement a green garden at Campus Alor Dili, a total budget of $3,000,
- The Environmental Brigade Group will implement in the village of Holsa, Bobonaro Municipality, with a total budget of $5,000,
- The Liquiça Environmental Brigade group will implement a green in Dato, Liquiça Municipality with a total budget of $5,000.
