HIVOS conducts workshop to provide advocacy on collaboration among CSOs

DILI, 05 september 2023 (TATOLI)- Humanist Foundation and Social Innovation (HIVOS) conducted 3 days of workshops to provide advocacy and training for Civil Societies Organizations (CSOs) through inclusive elaboration toward the prosperous and strong nation.

HIVOS’s Project Manager Gender Equality of Diversity and Inclusion, Ni Loh Gusti Madewanti said the main objective of this workshop is to build collaboration among Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Timor-Leste.

“We are having a workshop with Civil Society Organizations to build collaboration, during three days, our main target was to focus on people with disability, violence against women and disability, LGBTIQ, Gender minoriting, and elderlies’,’’ Ni Loh Gusti Madewanti told TATOLI, at the workshop activity, in João Paul Meeting room, Comoro, this Tuesday.

She said the collaboration will also made through providing advocacy and computer training and training on brailer letters for the Vision Impairment Association (AHMDTL) and hearing loss in Timor-Leste.

In addition, HIVIOS also establishes child ground for children from parents who suffered from domestic violence in the ALFeLA foundation and other CSOs.

In the same place, the executive director of AHMDTL, Gabriel Da Sousa said in 2022, that HIVOS has supported 4 months of training of bailer letters to AHMDTL members.

AHMDTL appreciate so much for the support and hope to strengthen more collaboration which is allied with other AHMDTL training program.

“ I strongly recommended to the government to ensure the freedom for all people with disability in Timor-Leste, especially for people with vision impairment to decide this right to vote on the upcoming election for village authority,’’ he concluded

Meanwhile, workshop activity will be held in three days from 5 to 7 September 2023 and funded by HIVOs with a total amount of $.10.000.

HIVOS will also provide $.5.000 to $.7.000 to support the Civil Society Organization in the implementation of their programs.
