“With the program of Building a Prosperous Timor-Leste through Labor Mobility, many workers had benefited from this program, and through the Pacific Australia Labor Mobility (PALM), many Timorese workers also had success in improving their lives by opening new businesses to diversify the growth of the economy in Timor-Leste,” Mateus dos Santos Talo told reporters at Timor-Lodge Kampung Baru, Dili, when he briefed 85 Timorese workers before leaving Timor-Leste to Australia on october 1.
In this opportunity, Talo appealed to Timorese workers to obey all the regulations that are implemented in Australia, work with discipline, and do not leave the system to do another job illegally.

“We thanked to the SEFOPE and will take this opportunity to work hard, obey all the regulations that are implemented in Australia, and commit to opening a new business after returning home to diversify the growth of the economy in Timor-Leste in the future,” he concluded.
According to the plan, Australia will receive 8,000 Timorese workers every year; therefore, SEFOPE appealed to young Timorese to prepare themselves by taking care of their health and learning the English language prior to working in Australia.
