DILI, 16 april 2024 (TATOLI) – The Presidency of the Republic, through the Social Inclusion Affairs, continues to distribute social support such as rice, cooking oil, shoes, toothpaste, and notebooks for students, including a food parcel, to people with disabilities in Bobonaro Administrative Post, and Lolotoe Administrative Post, Bobonaro Municipality.
“We come to support our fellow citizens with disabilities. This is to make them feel not discriminated against, we do not bring many things but with this visit alone they also feel proud because this State does not leave them alone,” said the Advisor of the Social Inclusion Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic, Gaspar Afonso in a statement after distributing social support in Lolotoe, on tuesday.
As the representative of people with disabilities at the Presidential Palace, Gaspar Afonso explained that the social support distributed during this time comes from the initiative of the President of the Republic, Jose Ramos-Horta, with the objective of showing affection to them, even though the support may only be for one or two days, but the presence among them is important because the President of the Republic does not want to leave anyone behind.
Calisto Ximenes, a representative and also a data collector for people with disabilities in rural areas, expressed, “I represent my fellow citizens with disabilities to convey our gratitude to the Presidency of the Republic, which has already helped the disabled siblings.”
The Social support was provided to 15 people with disabilities in the Municipality of Bobonaro, including five from the Bobonaro Administrative Post and 10 from the Lolotoe Administrative Post.
