DILI, 01 june 2024 (TATOLI) – Kameli Timor International School (KTIS), a private preschool and primary school, organized a number of fun and educational activities under the theme: ‘Investing in your child means investing in their future’ to celebrate World Children’s Day.
KTIS Director, Rini da Cruz, said that the role of parents is crucial to their children’s future: “Parents must invest in their children’s education to guarantee a better future. It is important for parents to work together with schools to ensure children get a good education because they are the future of the country,” Rini said in Comoro, Dili.
Representative of the Education Ministry, Margareta Araújo, thanked KTIS for organizing various educational activities to celebrate World Children’s Day.
“We have a responsibility to protect our children and so we reaffirm that we will continue to support and invest in our children’s education,” she emphasized.
KTIS is located in Comoro Dili and has more than 30 students. Each student pays between US$80 and US$180 a month. KTIS was established in november 2022.
Children’s Day is celebrated annually on june 1 in different parts of the world, including Timor-Leste as an initiative for children’s well-being and rights.
World Children’s Day was first established in 1954 as Universal Children’s Day and is celebrated on 20 November each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.
