DILI, 01 february 2025 (TATOLI) –The China Alumni Association , in coordination with one of Timor-Leste’s private universities, the Dili Institute of Technology (DIT), conducted an information session to inform Timorese university students about how to apply for scholarships offered by the Government of China to students from Timor-Leste

The President of the China Alumni Association, Delcio Francisco Fatima Ximenes, said that these activities were made possible by working alongside DIT to share information about Chinese scholarships with Timorese students and explain how to apply for scholarships offered by the Government of China.

“Today, we shared information about Chinese scholarships with students from DIT, the Institute of Canossa, and the Institute of Cristal, aiming to explain the application process and encourage them to apply for scholarships offered by the Government of China. Ximenes stated that the Government of China offers more than 20 scholarships to Timorese students and encouraged them to apply, noting that several universities in China are ranked among the top ten in the world and number one in Asia.

“This year, the Government of China is offering 20 to 25 scholarships to Timorese students to study at some of the best universities in China. Therefore, I encourage students to take this opportunity to apply and pursue their studies at Chinese universities,” Delcio said.

He emphasized, “Some universities in China independently offer opportunities for international students to study at their institutions. Therefore, students should take this chance to prepare their English language skills. The China Alumni Association is ready to assist and provide information on how to apply for the scholarships mentioned.”
