DILI, 05 June 2025 (TATOLI) – Angolan singer Rui Orlando and Indonesian artists Anji Manji and DJ Nadia Vega have arrived in Dili to entertain their Timorese fans with spectacular performances on Thursday night at TasiFest 2025—a major music festival taking place from 5 to 7 June in Tasi Tolu, Dili.

Upon arrival, Rui Orlando expressed his gratitude for being invited and promised to entertain the Timorese audience with his unique blend of Kizomba and Rhythm and Blues.

“It was a long journey, but traveling from Africa to perform here in Asia is a great honor for me as an artist. I’m truly surprised at how well you speak Portuguese here. This is my first time in Timor-Leste, but definitely not the last. Next time, I’ll bring my family along,” he said.

Indonesian pop singer Anji Manji also shared his appreciation for the invitation, noting the long absence of Indonesian performers in the country.

“I’m really happy to be here, especially since it’s been a long time since an Indonesian artist performed in Timor-Leste. If I’m not mistaken, Krisdayanti was the last one, and that was quite a while ago. So it’s an honor for me to be here,” he said.

DJ Nadia Vega, making her second visit to the country, said she was excited to perform once again for the Timorese crowd. “I’m thrilled to be back. It’s always a pleasure to play for the people of Timor-Leste.”

In addition to the big international names, TasiFest 2025 will give the stage to diversity and local talent, with Timorese artists of different styles. Marvi, known for his vibrant and captivating music, will bring an energetic performance, while the band Klamar will mix traditional influences with modern sounds. Dalia Kiakilir, one of Timor-Leste’s most promising emerging artists, will enchant the audience with her fusion of traditional and contemporary rhythms.

Demetrio promises an unforgettable pop show, and the group Quatro Cores will bring their unique fusion of musical styles to the stage, creating memorable moments for the audience. Nuno Seixas, one of the country’s most cherished voices, will present an intimate and exciting show. At the same time, the Quatro group will give the festival an immersive atmosphere with their musical diversity.

TasiFest 2025 is organized by EVEN2U, the same events company that invited popular São Toméan duo Calema to the festival last year.

The event will bring music, culture, sustainability, and innovation together in a vibrant and inclusive environment.

With an expected 20,000 attendees per day, the festival reinforces Timor-Leste’s position as an emerging cultural destination, contributing to tourism growth and the country’s global recognition.
