DILI, 08 July 2025 (TATOLI – The National Parliament has approved President José Ramos-Horta’s State visit to Guinea-Bissau.
Horta will attend the 15th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), which will take place in Bissau from July 13 to 18. This year’s summit is held under the theme “CPLP and Food Sovereignty: A Path to Sustainable Development.”
The authorization for the President’s trip was unanimously approved with 46 votes in favor during a plenary session led by Parliamentary President Maria Fernanda Lay.
The summit will bring together heads of state and government from CPLP member states, alongside representatives from regional and international organizations.
The agenda includes bilateral meetings between leaders, as well as thematic sessions on tackling food insecurity and promoting sustainable agriculture across the Portuguese-speaking countries.
