DILI, 22 November 2025 (TATOLI) – On Saturday, the Council of Ministers of Timor-Leste decided to grant full powers to the Minister of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, Verónica das Dores, to sign, on behalf of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, the Administrative Agreement for the Application of the Multilateral Social Security Convention of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP).

“This Administrative Agreement, scheduled to be signed on December 3, 2025, in Cape Verde, establishes the operational procedures necessary for the implementation of the CPLP Multilateral Social Security Convention,” the Government note stated.

The Convention seeks to expand social protection coverage and ensure the portability of social rights for citizens who settle in different CPLP member countries. It represents a significant milestone in strengthening citizenship among the peoples of the Community, providing real and tangible benefits to its citizens.
