DILI, 10 July 2026 (TATOLI) – As part of the final engagements of her historic visit to Timor-Leste, the Fifth President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Sukarnoputri, made a solemn visit today to the Taman Makam Pahlawan Seroja (Seroja Heroes Cemetery) in Dili.
Representing the Presidency of the Republic, the Chief of Staff of the Presidency of the Republic, Henriqueta Maria da Silva, accompanied the distinguished stateswoman during the wreath-laying ceremony in honor of those who rest there.
The ceremony constituted a moment of profound symbolic significance, reflecting the spirit of mutual respect, friendship, and reconciliation that characterizes the relations between Timor-Leste and Indonesia.
In line with the vision of the President of the Republic, J. Ramos-Horta, this moment reaffirms the commitment of both countries to honor their shared history, strengthening the bonds of trust, cooperation, and good neighborliness, while building, together, a future of peace and shared prosperity.
