DILI, 17 July 2026 (TATOLI) – The Government of Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (MPRM), on Friday signed a contract with Fugro Singapore Marine Pte Ltd to conduct a Geophysical and Two-Dimensional High-Resolution Seismic (2D-HRS) Survey for the Greater Sunrise Gas Export Pipeline, a key component of the Timor-Leste LNG (TLNG) Project.
The signing of the contract marks another significant milestone in Timor-Leste’s efforts to bring Greater Sunrise gas to the country through the Timor-Leste LNG (TLNG) Project.
The Greater Sunrise Gas Export Pipeline will connect the Greater Sunrise field to Timor-Leste, providing the energy that will underpin the TLNG Project and create lasting economic opportunities for the Timorese people.
This survey represents one of the most important technical programmes undertaken for the Greater Sunrise Gas Export Pipeline. It will provide the detailed seabed and shallow subsurface information required to optimise the pipeline route, support engineering design, and ensure the pipeline is developed safely, efficiently and in accordance with international standards.
The survey will also identify seabed conditions and geohazards along the proposed pipeline corridor, providing the technical foundation for the next stage of pipeline development.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources remains firmly committed to delivering the TLNG Project, including the Greater Sunrise Gas Export Pipeline and the downstream facilities that will transform Timor-Leste into a regional LNG producer.
Through continued investment in engineering, technical studies and international best practice, MPRM is laying the foundations for a project that will create jobs, strengthen the national economy and maximise the long-term value of Timor-Leste’s petroleum resources.
