DILI, 05 august 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste, today, registers 80 new cases of COVID-19, with 14 recoveries, and the active cases were 1.160.
Of the new cases, 31 were detected in Dili, while the rest were identified in other municipalities, including 27 in Ermera, eight in RAEOA, five in Viqueque, and two each in Bobonaro and Covalima municipality.
The spokesperson of SIJK, Dr. Rui Maria de Araujo said of today’s cases, only 10 percent were symptomatic.
He said of today’s cases, 73 were between the ages of 12 and 59, including five children under 12 and two elderly persons over 60. These new cases are made up of 41 men and 39 women.
Araujo informed that 14 patients were under intensive treatment at Vera Cruz Isolation Center, where 12 patients were in mild condition and two in moderate condition.
In the last 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 593 PCR tests, including 14 sentinel surveillance tests, 89 through contact tracing, 18 via random screening, 242 were carried out following the request for travel authorization out of capital Dili, 145 for the international travel authorization and 85 in quarantines.
The evolution of the COVID-19 in Timor-Leste, the incidence rate of coronavirus is, on average, in the last week, of 5.7 per 100 thousand inhabitants, while in Ermera 27.5, Dili 6.5 and Viqueque 3.2.
The CIGC reiterated its call on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus as the ICGC’s records showed cases are mounted in Ermera municipality.
There has been a total of 11.225 lab-confirmed cases of the virus in Timor-Leste, with 10.039 recoveries, active cases were 1.160 and 26 deaths, according to data of the Ministry of Health.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 40.6 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 14.1 percent have also received their second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
