DILI, august 6, 2021 (TATOLI)-Childfund develops children writing skills on composing fiction and legend on Timor-Leste original’s histories to provide the opportunity to Timorese and Foreigners to enhance their writing skills in Tetum.
The winners of the competition will be awarded a cash prize of $25.
“This writing competition is awarded in cash, due to the hard work on developing history topics and elaborating for a legendary history. The winner will be received 25 US dollars. The winner will be attributed for appreciation certificate and books,” The library for all Manager, Aurelio da Costa, told Tatoli at ChildFund office in Colmera, Dili, this Thursday.
According to Mr. Costa, there are 99 stories written by Timorese and 91 stories written by foreigners.
“All histories competition comes with the legendary topic, fiction, health, and sports for children. ChildFund has a standard for reaching 190 stories and modified in books”, he said.
Costa added that the results of the writing competition will be published on the websites created from Chilfund’s and the product of history and legendary writing from the competitor will print out in Australia to be sold to the public.
At the same place, Costa added that Childfund is cooperating with the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport on the education program, and even for books teaching in schools.
“We are currently implementing a pilot project for providing legends and history in the Tetum language in four primary schools in Fatumetak, Cairui, Lifau and Beboro in Manatuto”, he said.
