DILI, 24 january, 2022 (TATOLI) – The Timor-Leste Red Cross (TLRC) placed USD 60,000 for the procurement of fogging machines for dengue Surveillance in Dili.
The Secretary-General of the Timor-Leste Red Cross, Luis Pedro Pinto, said that this support is made due to the intensification of the number of dengue patients in Timor-Leste.
“CRTL currently lacks dengue larvicide products and fogging machines to do volunteer work in the area high risk of dengue, therefore this budget will help the government fight dengue fever in Dili, even in other municipalities.” Secretary-General of the Timor-Leste Red Cross, Luis Pedro Pinto told Tatoli Agency, in his office Gricenfor, on January 24, this Monday.
in addition, CRTL currently has 5 machines available to fumigate the places risk of dengue at 5-10 am and at 3-5 pm with more than 200 volunteers to carry out the activities that contribute to eliminating the dengue infection.
According to Pinto, CRTL will procure test reagents for dengue fever, larvicides products, and fogging machines from Australia and Indonesia.
“These products will arrive sometime in March and April this year,” said.
