DILI, 18 may 2022 (TATOLI) – The Governor-General of Australia, David Hurley, commended the leadership of the President of Timor-Leste, Francisco Guterres Lú Olo, who has worked hard to strengthen cooperation with the Australian government during his term.
This appreciation was conveyed through a letter delivered by the Australian Ambassador, William Costello, on the sidelines of a meeting with the Head of State, at the Presidential Palace.
“The letter said, the Governor-General and his wife were very excited about the visit to Timor-Leste that was scheduled on may 19 to participate in the inauguration ceremony of President-elect, José Ramos Horta on may 19 and also expressed their gratitude to President Lú Olo for working hard to strengthen relations between two countries during five years”, the Ambassador of Australia to Timor – Leste William Costello told reporters at the President Palace Aitarak – Laran on tuesday.
Bill Costello also added that Australia is committed to strengthening cooperation with Timor-Leste in various sectors including Education, Agriculture, Defense, Security, and other development sectors
