DILI, 14 setembru 2022 (TATOLI)— The President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta has appointed Former Prime Minister and President of the Republic, Xanana Gusmão to attend the education transforming summit that takes place in the United States on september 19, 2022.
“Absolutely, Xanana Gusmão will attend the education summit on 19 of september in the United States. Since I have another mission here and I ask Xanan Gusmão to represent Timor-Leste and represent President of Republic to attend the event,” President Horta said in a statement on wednesday.
This education transforming summit will be attended by the UN systems, Partners, and leaders from many countries.
According to Horta, Gusmao will attend the meeting with the President of the United States, Joe Biden on september 20.
During the week of the meeting, Xanana Gusmão and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adalzija Magno will attend the meeting in Lisbon Portugal.
Xanana Gusmão leaves Dili on wednesday september 14 and will return on october five, 2022.
