“SEA awards six project licensing certificates with category B for investment in infrastructure and 23 of category C for hotel restaurant companies,” said Secretary of State for the Environment, Demétrio do Amaral de Carvalho, to journalists in Acait, wednesday.

According to Carvalho, the attribution of the environmental license certificate indicates that development is underway in the country.

SEA also grants the environmental licensing certificate with category A for large constructions such as Tibar Port, Timor Marina Square, and rehabilitation of Nicolau Lobato International Airport, among others.

Carvalho said since 2019 SEA has granted, a total of 726 environmental license certificates, including this year, with a total of 256 environmental licenses for companies that invested in the infrastructures and projects to create workshops, industries, hotels, and restaurants in the country.

The First Vice-President of BTL, Gustavo da Cruz, said in turn “the certificate is one of the basic requirements to convince development partners to invest in water, sanitation, and drainage”.

The Director of the National Environmental Licensing Authority, António Lelo Taci, said that environmental licensing is intended for the private and public sectors.

António Lelo Taci assured that the authority is convenient to meet companies on the allocation of the environmental license for the investment.
