DILI, 28 september 2022 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s President, José Ramos Horta intends to strengthen cooperation with several European countries.
Following this intention, next year, Horta will visit Norway, Britain, and Germany to strengthen Timor-Leste’s cooperation with several European countries, after a meeting with Finland’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kai Saur, in New York.
Regarding bilateral relations with Germany, Ramos Horta said he would explore the possibility of opening up employment opportunities for young Timorese in the country, without involving the private sector.
Horta also reminded that President Deutscher Bundestag intends to establish a labor program for Timor-Leste in Germany.
“I will pave the way for SEFOPE to cooperate with the German Government”, he explained.
Horta also concludes that it is important for the State of Timor to invest in external cooperation to strengthen the development of vital sectors.
