DILI, 28 december 2022 (TATOLI) – The Council of Ministers approved today a Decree-Law on the Regulation of Military Awards and Commemorative Military Medals.
The Decree-Law was presented by the Minister of Defense (MoD), Filomeno da Paixão de Jesus, during the regular meeting of the Council of Ministers, at the Palace of Government.
Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Magalhães said the Decree-Law aimed to create and regulate the conditions for awarding different military medals to the dedication of military personnel.
The military medal may also be awarded to foreign military personnel and national or foreign civilians.
Military medals include the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, etc.
“These medals will be awarded in accordance with the decision of the Ministry of Defense to see whether they meet the criteria or not, for example, such as Distinguished Service Cross is only for those who go to war,” he said.
