DILI, 16 janeiro 2022 (TATOLI)- Timor- Leste Migration service authority collected over 1.497,540.00 USD from january to december 2022.
General Director of Migration Service of Timor-Leste, Luis Soares Barreto said since january to december 2022, the migration authority collected revenue worth 1.497,540.00 USD from visa fraud.
“We collected the total income from legal movement in the borderline between Timor-Leste and Indonesia,’’ General Director of Migration Service of Timor-Leste, Luis Soares Barreto told Tatoli Agency in his office, Caicoli, this monday.
According to Migration data, the number of passengers arriving from January to December was 18,003 while the passengers leaving for Indonesia were 125,183 people, bringing the total number of travelers to 247,186.
He added that income was also collected from 108 illegal crossers, from Indonesia, China, Pakistan, and others.
Revenue was also collected from a visa fraud register consisting of 269 people and 46 volunteers who were left behind.
So far the Migration Authority has collected more than 3,440,450.00 million USD in 2018, 3,124,305.00 million USD in 2019, in 2020 it collected more than 1,094,290.00 million USD, while 2021 more than 865,110.00 USD has been raised and in 2022 1,497,540.00. USD has been collected by Authority.
“Revenue, on the other hand, has decreased due to the Covid-19 pandemic because the country implemented the locked policy and free entry visa, follows government policy,” he concluded
