DILI, 18 march 2023 (TATOLI)- Malaysian Embassy in Timor-Leste celebrated its First community family gathering this year by carrying out a cleaning activity across a beautiful beach in Dolok Oan behind Cristo rei Area.
Ambassador- designate of Malaysia to Timor-Leste, Amarijit Singh Sarjit singh said the purpose of this celebration was to gather all the Malaysian community in Timor-Leste to tie up the friendship and strengthen cooperation between other.
“We celebrate this day as the first day for the Malaysian community in Timor-Leste to come together to strengthen their relationship. We also have cleaning activities in the beautiful beaches which most potential for tourism sites,’’ The ambassador of Malaysia in Timor Leste, Amarijit Singh Sarjit Singh told Journalists at Dolok Ona, Hera, this Saturday.
He added that on the celebration we have a BBQ and cocktail activities to share meals with others as a part of Malaysian culture that must be promoted in Timor-Leste.
Ambassador Singh emphasized that Timor-Leste has very potential tourism areas such as beautiful beaches within untouched ocean resources such as coral, fish, and most others that needed to protect.
“ I am planning to invite some Malaysian investors to invest in recycling the plastic waste which should not ruin the ocean and land environment, and even damaged its environment,’’ He explained
He added so far it is just a plan and hopeful it can be realized in the upcoming days.
The president of the Malaysian Community Association in Timor-Leste (MAI-TL), C.D. Singh said needed all proposals to submit to the Malaysian Embassy to focus on the rubbish recycling factory and must be investing in Timor-Leste to reduce the single used plastic.
“We understand that Timor-Leste has a very beautiful beach. Thus, it needs to protect and ensure the environment across the beach must be clean,’’ President C.D. Singh said.
He recognized that plastic waste and other rubbish are the main issues in every country also in Timor-Leste.
“I will propose to the Ambassador to cooperate with the Timor-Leste government to invite Malaysian investors to help Timor-Leste to recycle plastic waste in this country,’’ He concluded
