DILI, 19 june 2023 ( TATOLI)– South Korea’s Embassy in Timor – Leste and Timor – Leste Taekwondo Federation ( FTTL) continue to develop Taekwondo through the 2023 Ambassador’s Taekwondo Cup in Timor – Leste.
The Korean Ambassador in Timor – Leste, Shin Mantek, said the 2023 Korean Ambassador’s Cup aims to develop Taekwondo in Timor – Leste.
“We held the 10th Korean Ambassador’s Cup to maintain the authenticity of Taekwondo from South Korea and committed to developing Taekwondo and providing opportunities for Timorese youth to participate in Taekwondo to ensure a healthy life in Timor – Leste,” said the Ambassador of South Korea Shin Mantek to TATOLI at Gedung Matahari Terbit (GMT) Colmera, Dili.
Ambassador, Shin Mantek, also appealed to the Taekwondo participants to continue disciplined, respect each other and uphold human values in order to promote peace and strengthen cooperation between communities in Timor – Leste.
The President of FTTL, Gabriel da Costa, asked all the participants of the Ambassador’s Cup to show discipline during the competition.
“I urge you all to show your discipline and talent because Taekwondo will educate us to prepare our minds in order to contribute to the development of Taekwondo in Timor – Leste,” he said.
At the same place, the President of Timor – Leste Sports Confederation ( CDTL) Macario Sanches, on behalf of all the Taekwondo clubs in Timor – Leste appreciated this initiative and thanked the Korean Embassy in Timor – Leste for having developed the Taekwondo in Timor – Leste and asked for the continued support.
Meanwhile, the 2023 Korean Ambassador’s Cup was attended by 65 Taekwondo branches in the Municipalities of Dili, Baucau, Manatuto Bobonaro, and Aileu which will take place on June 17 for the next 3 days at the GMTDili.
