DILI, 03 July 2023 (TATOLI)—Muslims in Timor-Leste hope that the Ninth Government Constitution led by Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão is consistent and focuses on the country’s development.
“We send a message to the new government led by Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão to ensure the formation of a state and focus on developing the country,” said the head of the Muslim community in Timor-Leste, Pascoal Sidik Lemorai, in an exclusive interview with the TATOLI Agency, at the An -nur Alor Village.
Muslims hope that the 9th Constitutional Government can promote peace, and stability and create good conditions for everyone to live more prosperously, “I believe Xanana Gusmão’s leadership can build better relations between all religious communities and all sections can collaborate to develop Timor-Leste,” he said.
The director of the An-Nur Foundation, Muhammad Ahmad da Costa, also requested that the new government remain in its position for up to five years and continue to promote peace.
“We hope that the new government will continue to build this country with no change before five years and together we will focus on development, guarantee peace and harmony,”
Prime Minister, José Alexandre Kayrala Xanana Gusmão, and 46 members of the government were officially approved by the President of the Republic, José Ramos Horta on 01 July 2023.
The government led by Xanana consists of two Deputy Prime Ministers, 19 Ministers, 10 Deputy Ministers, and 15 State Secretaries.
This ninth constitutional government has six female government members.
