DILI, 21 august 2023 (TATOLI)– Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste, Arcanjo da Silva said that TradeInvest had received proposals to obtain a Certificate for Declaration of Benefits from nine different investors.
“This year TradeInvest received nine proposals with a total investment value of $80 million from nine investors, five of them were FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) and four were NDI (National Direct Investment),” Arcanjo da Silva told Tatoli at Colmera TradeInvest Office.
He added that the FDI company composed of YieldPlay Energy Company from South Africa wants to invest in renewable solar panels in the Oé-cusse Ambeno Special Administrative Region (RAEAO) with an investment cost of $12 million.
FarmPro Unipessoal, Lda from Australia with an investment of $ 2 million focuses on the agricultural sector, especially coffee products in the municipality of Ermera. Meanwhile, an investor from Singapore placed a $15.8 million investment in Global Oil Storage for a fuel oil terminal (TBBM) in the municipality of Liquiça.
Discovery Business Industrial Zone, Lda from Australia with an investment cost of $15 million for the beverage industry in Dili. Qulina, Unip. Lda of Malaysia with a similar investment of $15 million in soft drink products in Liquiça.
In addition, national investors consisting of SK Medical Center invest in Polic Clinic with an amount of $12.7 million. Milrex Rego Unipesso, Lda invest $150 thousand in the juice industry, these two companies will invest in Dili.
Gota Beverage and food company with an investment cost of $7.2 million in the clean water beverage industry in Liquiça and Patricia Fresh Lounge Unipessoal, Lda, with a total of $160 thousand investment in the food and beverage industry.
“To approve the proposal, Tradeinvest should have to look at their business model, the properties used, environmental permits, and so on,” he concluded.
So far, from 2019 to 2023, TradeInvest has received proposals from 55 investors with investment types such as 11 FDI investors and nine NDI investors with a total investment value of $1.2 billion.
