DILI, 01 september 2023 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Agriculture Livestock Fisheries and Forestry (MALLF), Marcos da Cruz, informed the Government’s Ministry of Agriculture will purchase 25 units of tractors to facilitate the farmer’s increase in domestic agricultural product in Timor – Leste.
” MALFF has a total of less than $ 15 million from the ratification budget, therefore$ 1 million budget will be allocated to buy the 25 units of tractors at the end of this year, to help farmers increase agriculture domestic products,” the Minister of MALLF Marcos da Cruz told reporters in his office Comoro Dili.
Da Cruz, explained previously that MALLF had bought 300 units of tractors and 2050 units of hand tractors in 2008 2009 and 2010 but currently most of the tractors have already broken.
“We will check all tractors in the national territory for maintenance, for agricultural uses,”
However, Cruz said, the purchasing of 25 tractors will not be enough for farmers therefore MALFF buy new more by using the 2024 annual budget next year.
