DILI, 18 september 2023 (TATOLI)– The National Regulator Authority from Portugal (ANACOM) conducted a one-week capacity building focused on cyber security and network integrated service to the staffs of Three Telecommunication Operators in Timor-Leste, Telemor, Timor Telecom and Telkomcel.
ANACOM Head of Security, João Filipe Alves said ANACOM is honored to share some knowledge on cyber security and security of network integrated service in the telecommunication sector.
“We will share the cyber security issue on incident reports and telecommunication infrastructure. I will also explain the difference between cyber security and network security integrated service,’’ ANACOM Held of Security, João Filipe Alves told Journalists in MTC meeting room, Caicoli, Monday.
Cyber security is how individuals and organizations reduce the risk of cyber-attacks while Network security offers limited protection, safeguards the network, and transmits data only. You can become a cyber-security engineer by grabbing a master’s degree in a field closely related to cybersecurity.
The President of ANC, João Oliveira Freitas said this capacity building resulted from the technique bilateral agreement between ANC and ANACOM in 2021.
“We have signed a technical bilateral agreement in 2021 and we implemented the agreement in 2022. ANC sent 11 techniques staff to participate in the capacity building in ANACOM Portugal,”
In recent july, 3 experts from ANACOM Portugal provided 4 days of training for analyses on a study of the service quality for the telecommunication network coverage in Timor-Leste:” Today we have another ANACOM expert from Portugal to provide capacity building on cyber security.”
It is known that this training will be held in one week commencing on Monday 18 to 22 Friday September 2023.
