DILI 09 december 2020 (TATOLI) – The Government has presented the politic and legislative options to the Council of Minister regarding the Creation of Commission for the Prevention of Human Traffic.
The Decree-Law Draft was presented by the Minister of Justice, Manuel Cárceres da Costa
Speaking to the Journalist at after the meeting,President for the Council of Minister, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães said, the Commission will make it possible to coordinate the necessary actions to ensure the measure for protection and assistance for the victim of human traffic and provided the law.
He made it clear that this commission will also be responsible for promoting and ensuring the coordination of national entities and cooperation with foreign entities in the fight against human trafficking.
Mr Magalhães also added that the commission will monitor the application of the provisions of the conventions that Timor-Leste has ratified or will ratify with regard to human trafficking.
