DILI, 12 april 2024 (TATOLI) – President of the Republic, Jose Ramos Horta, together with five government members, discussed the visit of high-level entities that will also be special guests in the commemoration of the 22nd restoration of independence, which will be celebrated on may 20 this year.
After the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister Coordinator of Economic Affairs, Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay reported: “The Head of State wanted to receive an update on the preparations for the Rabilau festival and the visit of high-level entities on may 20, and we have already received instructions to work together with the Presidential Palace.”
This year, a confirmed special guest who will participate in the celebration of the restoration of independence is the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, Hassanal Bolkiah.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Coordinator of Social Affairs, Minister of Rural Development and Community Housing, Mariano Assanami Sabino, also reported to the Head of State about the preparations for the International Festival which, according to the plan, will take place between august and september this year.
Meanwhile, in this meeting, the two Deputy Prime Ministers who accompanied the Head of State were the Minister of State Administration, Tomás do Rosário Cabral, the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Miguel Marqués Goncalves Manetelu, and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry represented by the Deputy Minister, Augosto Junior Trindade.
