DILI, 19 june 2024 (TATOLI) – On tuesday, the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Interlocutor in the Greater Sunrise discussions, Agio Pereira, met with representatives of the INPEX, Japan’s largest oil and gas Exploration and Production company, at the Government Palace in Dili.
During the meeting, the INPEX Timor-Leste Chief Representative, Yosuke Ueda introduced the team members and gave a brief presentation on the company’s experience in the energy sector and the corporation’s mission in Timor-Leste.
Minister Agio congratulated INPEX on the recent opening of its office in Timor-Leste on 3 june 2024. Minister Agio stated that the opening of INPEX’s office is a positive step towards maintaining closer coordination with all stakeholders, such as the ANP, Timor Gap, and with the Government, through the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Francisco da Costa Monteiro, and also with the Minister Agio as the Special Envoy of the Government of Timor-Leste for Greater Sunrise.
At the meeting, INPEX also demonstrated its interest in the development of Greater Sunrise and the development of the South Coast.
INPEX is recognized as the largest oil and gas exploration and production company in Japan, with extensive experience in the development of the oil industry. The company has invested in the energy sector in various nations, including Indonesia and Australia.
