DILI, 24 March 2025 (TATOLI) – The Stratacom Global Investment Group Company from Brunei Darussalam today submitted their investment proposal to Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão about infrastructure investment, which will be implemented in the Municipality of Manatuto and Baucau.
“We have been in Timor-Leste for a long time and have visited many places; therefore, today we meet with the prime minister to submit our investment plan in the sector of infrastructure and social activity in the municipality of Baucau and Manatuto,’’General Director of Stratacom Global Investment Group, Peter Wong, told reporters at the Government Palace on Monday.
He said this investment plan can be realized together with the Minister of State Administration, Tomás Cabral, and the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Brunei Darussalam, Abel Guterres.
Wong said after submitting the proposal of the investment plan, the prime minister reminded us to prepare the plan in depth to implement it in the future.
“Prime Minister Gusmão appreciated our investment proposal and asked to improve the investment plan together with the local authority of Bacau and Manatuto to discuss more deeply and asked to resubmit again to discuss in detail before it can be realized in Timor-Leste,” he said.
The President of Manatuto Municipality Authority, Luis Fernandes, confirms that the investment that Stratacom Global plans to invest in Manatuto is tourism and hospitality in the different places in the Manatuto municipality.
“Stratacom Global wants to invest in the two places, such as One Dollar Beach and Business Park in Obratu, and in Baukau they want to invest in various sectors because there is an airport in Baucau, and they want to design Baucau City to become an ancient city of Portuguese as before,” he said.
This meeting was attended by the Minister of State Administration, Tomás Cabral; the President Authority of Baucau Municipality, Veneranda Lemos Martins; and the President Authority of Manatuto Municipality, Luis Fernandes.
