DILI, 21 October 2025 (TATOLI) – Sixty-five Indonesian universities are set to take part in the 2025 Indonesia Higher Education Fair, which will be held from October 28 to 30 at the Indonesian Cultural Center (PBI) in Dili.
The educairon fair is expected to offer young Timorese students opportunities to explore study options at leading Indonesian universities.
According to Indonesian Education Attaché in Timor-Leste, Tasrifin Tahara, the exhibition reflects the Indonesian government’s commitment to expanding access to higher education for Timor-Leste’s youth.
“We hope Timorese students will seize this opportunity to pursue their highr education in Indonesia and strengthen their capacity to become future leaders,” Tahara said in a press release on Tuesday. “This year’s event will be the largest since its launch in 2016.”
He stressed that the 2025 exhibition will feature on-site university entrance tests and partnership meetings between Indonesian universities and Timorese institutions to enhance collaboration in academic programs, research, and student exchange.
Since 2016, the Indonesian Cultural Center in Dili has helped 2,618 Timorese students secure scholarships to study in Indonesia. Cooperation has also expanded to include teacher training, lecturer development, and joint research initiatives.
The three-day expo will highlight the strong bilateral ties between Indonesia and Timor-Leste, with education serving as one of the key pillars of their diplomatic partnership.
