DILI, 05 November 2025 (TATOLI) – President and Nobel Peace Laureate, Jose Ramos-Horta has expressed his profound condolences to His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, following the violent attack that occurred on board the train travelling between Doncaster and London, which claimed and injured several lives.
In his formal message, President Ramos-Horta expressed his profound sorrow over the tragic event: “In this moment of grief, I extend to Your Majesty, and through You to the families of the victims, my deepest condolences and heartfelt expression of solidarity.”
“I would also like to pay tribute to the members of the railway staff, the passengers, and the security forces who, with courage and selflessness, acted to protect lives and restrain the assailant. Their heroic actions reflect the very best of the values of humanity and public service that inspire the British people,” said the Head of State.
The President reaffirmed Timor-Leste’s fraternal solidarity with the United Kingdom in condemning this senseless act of violence. Timor-Leste stands with all the affected families and with those recovering from the physical and emotional wounds caused by this tragedy.
