DILI, 13 january 2026 (TATOLI) — Timor-Leste’s Customs Authority has generated US$120 million in revenue in 2025, marking the highest collection recorded by the department and placing it well above its revised annual target.

Commissioner Joanico Pinto said the result was driven by revenue collected from seven customs service points at strategic locations nationwide.

“The revenue target set for 2025 was US$119 million, and we surpassed it,” Pinto said on Monday at the Ministry of Finance,” Pinto said.

He said the Port of Tibar contributed the largest share of revenue, totaling US$116.2 million. Meanwhile, the Batugade border post generated US$2.54 million, while the Bayu Undan project contributed US$37,111.

Pinto added that President Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili recorded revenue of nearly US$1.48 million.

He said the Maliana Tunu-Bibi integrated post collected US$11,512, the Suai Salele integrated post recorded US$563,859 and the Post Office generated US$12,643.

According to Pinto, the combined revenue from the seven service points amounted to US$120.85 million.

Pinto said customs revenue is collected through three main charges: import duties, sales tax, and selective consumption taxes on specific goods.
