DILI, 24 April 2026 (TATOLI) — On Friday, TATOLI News Agency held a meeting with a delegation from China Media Group (CMG) to strengthen cooperation, with a focus on content exchange, professional collaboration and capacity building in the media sector.
The meeting was held at TATOLI’s office in Dili between the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TATOLI, Noémio Mateus Soares Falcão, and the delegation of the China Media Group (CMG). Vice President Zezito da Silva and Madalena Pereira Carlos also attended the meeting.
Falcão said the visit underscored the continuity of an ongoing partnership between the two media organisations.
“This cooperation is not new, but a continuation of an existing collaboration. The CMG team worked together with TATOLI in producing a documentary on the services provided by Chinese doctors at HNGV and other locations,” he said.
The joint work included documentary production and field coverage at the Hospital Nacional Guido Valadares (HNGV), focusing on the role of Chinese doctors in Timor-Leste’s health sector.
Falcão said the completed materials would be published soon to inform the public about the contribution of international medical teams, particularly those from China.
Both sides also agreed to deepen cooperation through staff training and professional development programs.
“CMG has also invited TATOLI staff to undertake study visits in China and opened opportunities for content exchange between both sides,” Falcão said.
Under the arrangement, content from China Media Group (CMG) may be broadcast on TATOLI, IP platforms, while TATOLI-produced material could be distributed through CMG-affiliated networks. The shared content is expected to cover tourism, development, the economy, culture and politics.
Falcão said the initiative is expected to increase Timor-Leste’s international visibility and strengthen TATOLI’s role in global media cooperation.
China Media Group (CMG) is a state-owned media organisation of China, founded in 2018 and based in Beijing. It was created through the integration of China Central Television (CCTV), China National Radio (CNR) and China Radio International (CRI), and also oversees China Global Television Network (CGTN).
CMG broadcasts in more than 40 languages and serves as a central platform for China’s domestic and global media outreach.
