DILI, 10 June 2026 (TATOLI) — The 15th Meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Group to Develop the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) Strategic Plan was convened on 9-10 June 2026 in Dili, Timor-Leste.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC), together with SOCA-TL and the ASEAN Secretariat with the support of the Government of Australia through the Aus4ASEAN Futures Initiatives, officially commenced the meeting at JL Villa Hotel, Dili.

Guided by the Ad Hoc Working Group Co-Chairs from the Philippines and Singapore, this high-level event brings together esteemed delegates from all ASEAN Member States and the ASEAN Secretariat.

This meeting marks a monumental milestone as the very first ASEAN meeting to be co-hosted by Timor-Leste after it’s accession to ASEAN in October 2025

Building on this spirit of friendship and share purposes, the two-day meeting aims to advance the development of the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Strategic Plan and shape the strategic direction of the ASCC towards 2045.

Serving as the human-centered soul of ASEAN, during the meeting, delegates will review, deliberate, and finalize the Strategic Measures and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the ASCC Results Framework.

These foundational efforts are dedicated to delivering a robust, forward-looking roadmap that ensures a resilient and truly inclusive regional family where no one is left behind.
