DILI, 10 June 2026 (TATOLI) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MoFAC), in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat and the Australian Government, on Wednesday commenced a three-day ‘Writeshop on Developing Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI) Project Proposals’ at the Memorial Hall, MoFAC, from 10–12 June 2026.
The Writeshop brings together government officials from ministries and institutions involved in Timor-Leste’s ASEAN integration process to strengthen their capacity to develop high-quality project proposals and better leverage ASEAN cooperation mechanisms in support of national priorities.
At the opening session, Ralyana Ribeiro, Acting Director-General for ASEAN Affairs, highlighted that the Writeshop will strengthen the Government’s capacity to develop quality project proposals, enabling Timor-Leste to better mobilise ASEAN cooperation in support of national priorities, institutional development, and its integration into the ASEAN Community.
The Writeshop is expected to strengthen understanding of ASEAN cooperation mechanisms and support the development of a pipeline of priority project concepts for submission through relevant ASEAN cooperation frameworks, including the Initiative for ASEAN Integration.
MoFAC expressed its appreciation to the ASEAN Secretariat and the Government of Australia, through DFAT and Australia PROSIVU, for their continued partnership and support in advancing Timor-Leste’s ASEAN integration efforts and strengthening national capacities to engage effectively in the ASEAN Community.
