Up to 196 countries, including Timor-Leste, would participate in the event.

“Our preparation is divided into three main parts, including pre-expo, expo, and post-expo. The pre-expo includes consultation with all institutions, both public and private sector institutions, communities and individuals,” Vong made the comments after meeting Commissioner H.E. Dr. Sergio Hornai at CAC’s office, in Dili, today.

Mr. Vong said Timor-Leste would cover four areas in the Expo 2020 Dubai, namely tourism and hospitality, agriculture and fisheries, petroleum and minerals, and transports, logistics, and infrastructures.

“In the Expo 2020 Dubai, these four areas would be our main priority during the exhibition,” said Vong.

He said the meeting with CAC’s Commissioner was important to ensure ANED-TL would prevent any wrongdoings with the Expo.

“I will exercise my role as the Coordinator-General of the National Authority of Expo Dubai in Timor-Leste accordingly, to ensure that this exhibition would benefit the people of Timor-Leste,” affirmed Vong.

At the same place, CAC’s Commissioner H.E. Hornai said the presentation of Timor-Leste’s program, plan, and activities of the Expo 2020 Dubai, by ANED-TL, was important so that CAC would keep monitoring the activities of Timor-Leste’s participation in the event from the beginning through to the end.

“CAC will accompany the whole process of the participation of Timor-Leste in the event, to know its mission, vision, goal, and the economic return from participating in the expo,” said Hornai.

Vong added 12 Timorese nationals had been chosen to work in Timor-Leste exhibition display stands in Dubai, saying the government delegation also would participate in the event.
