DILI, 16 november 2022 ( TATOLI)- The President of Special Administrative of Oekuse ( RAEOA), Arsenio Bano wishes to accelerate the agreement for the implementation of a Free Border Zone ( Free Trade Zone) to facilitate the mobility of people and goods.
For this purpose Bano, informed, his administration will present today to Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak, a group of specialists to conduct a feasibility study of the Free Trade Area ( FTA) in the borders.
” I will present a technical group, composed of 10 experts to accelerate the feasibility study of the border area. I will also choose one person among them to lead the group, we need to move faster,” the President of RAEOA Arsenio Bano told TATOLI at the Dili Convention Center ( CCD), Cai- Coli Dili.
Questions about the appointment of these experts, Bano said that as President of RAEOA, he would first submit his request to the head of the Government for approval.
Bano also referred that after submitting that request to the Head of Government, he will publicly disclose more detailed information.
It should be recalled that Prime Minister Ruak asked the President of the RAEOA to create a technical group to conduct a feasibility study of the FTA at the land border.
The Timorese and Indonesian governments had discussed the FTA on october 15, to imprint the FTA at the land border.
