DILI, 17 february 2022 (TATOLI)- Asia Electoral Net has submitted a proposal to become the observer of the Presidential Election which will be held on 19 march 2022, revealed The Director General of the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE), Acilino Manuel Branco.
“STAE has received a proposal request from the Asia Electoral Net to be observers on the Presidential election, around six people from Asia Electoral Net will come to Timor – Leste,” The Director General Acilino Branco, told Tatoli at the STAE ‘s office Caicoli, Dili today.
Director General of STAE Branco, added that Timor – Leste is open to accepting International observers to ensure a transparent election in accordance with the democratic values which is applied in Timor – Leste.
Therefore, STAE has issued an announcement to international observers who wish to become the observers of the Presidential election on 19 march 2022, are required to be in Timor – Leste on 09 of march before the presidential election takes place.
“STAE still accepting the applications of proposals from the International Observer Organization but they must be in Timor – Leste for 10 days before the Presidential Election is held, all international observers are required to bring their vaccination card, passport and 3×4 size photo to obtain an accreditation letter from STAE before to conduct the observation of the Presidential election.
Previously, the European Union had applied to become observers, three are 14 observers already in Timor – Leste and more than 20 observers from the European Union will arrive in Timor – Leste by next week.
Meanwhile, election observers from Australia have also contacted STAE to be observers of the Presidential election, therefore STAE welcomes international observers to ensure the transparent and fair elections, based on the democratic values which is implemented in Timor – Leste.
